Description

This equipment was part of the log loading machinery used in the early 20th century in the mountains in East Tennessee - what is now called the Smokies. Special rail lines were built to handle moving logs from the woods to the mill in the town below. This equipment helped to move heavy logs onto the flat cars for transport down the mountain.
